Thoroughly autumn now of course – though nonetheless beautiful for all that. We may yet have been a little early for the real climax of autumnal tree colour, but there were plenty of hints around. In the kitchen garden there was a real sense of things having being harvested, or if not very much ready to become so. There is a great deal of work in progress which will no doubt bring great improvements to some of the paths, and notably to the stream which is acquiring a new and huge rockery which apparently will not simply be good to look at, but which will also have a flood prevention function. There’s also some interesting artwork, which isn’t much represented in these photographs, but is well worth a look ……
