RHS Harlow Carr in March


Stirrings of Spring ….. A lovely Spring morning, ideal for gardens and ideal for photography. The theme of the place today was about stirring I think. Blank earth with plants shooting and showing. Blank earth still waiting, especially in the kitchen garden. Colours that are fresh and new, especially in the newly emerging shoots and leaves. Grasses beginning the long upward journey that will being them to being once again the hiding place for the standing stones.

A bit of a surprise was the Salix Viminalis, which we decided is Willow, probably being grown to complete the basket like arch that stands behind it. We were also pleased to meet “3 French hens” and a relatively friendly crow. Pictures follow …….
