I think that Potteric Carr is always worth a visit. As a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust reserve it has an obvious “function” which is about being, enjoying and perhaps even preserving wildlife, and that’s as it should be. It’s also though just a lovely environment to be in and sometimes forgetting the checklist of species to see and just “being” is the best option! This was one of those occasions. The birdlife was obviously there – all the usual suspects – but we wandered round and relaxed and took a few pics, some of which follow.
