The Orchid in question was a gift from congregation at the little church of St Mary in Eryholme when I retired. It’s now into its second season, flowering away on our kitchen windowsill, and very pleasing it is. The attempt here was to come in close, using the macro (90mm) lens and a necessarily narrow depth of field, to pick out highlights of the plant. I’m fairly pleased with the result, perhaps because it’s a kind of photography of which I’ve done very little. I can say honestly that in every image there is something which is in sharp focus – the trick is to find it!
