When it snows cameras come out and cliches are made and sent into the BBC weather people in the hope of some TV exposure. Well, why not? In our garden is a little heap of stone, recently purchased to make a “feature” on a gravelled ex-lawn. That random pile plus snow and a little sunshine seemed worth the effort and here are the results, plus a few extras, including a couple of shots of recently thawed apple tree branches.
Some of them work – I quite like the contrast between the pure white of the snow and the (slightly accentuated admittedly) colours in the rock. I particularly like the threefold interplay between the shadows and the trunk of the tree, and the subtle curve of the snow below the diagonal of the same tree trunk.
